PRO-FRIENDS: Ways to Relax at Home

It has been a busy week and I know that most of you really want to relax at home. I, too, feel the same. I think I am growing old because I wish for it more and more. Haha! Anyway, this post is about relaxing and reenergizing yourself at home. Some of these, Sam and I do since we are always busy during weekdays. We are very sociable and career-oriented people so we like to treat ourselves to some peace and quality time during weekends. When we finally get to move into our Lancaster New City home (project of Profriends or Property Company of Friends Inc), we will definitely enjoy relaxing weekends more thanks to the quiet community of Lancaster.

Music
Of course, music is the number one thing we look forward to when we want to relax. Even during weekends, I listen to it on the way to and from work and while at work to calm my senses. It allows me to make better decisions and think clearly. Music (upbeat ones) can also help my drive to work fast or efficiently.
Massage or Facial
A home service massage or facial helps you to really relax than going to a spa. No more need to commute to and from the spa, disrupting your already relaxed self. Just pay your trusted masseuse or derma in advance and let him or her to quietly slip away after you have dozed off into blissful relaxation.

Long Bath or Sunbathing
If you are privileged enough to have a bath tub, USE IT! I would die for one. Anyway, you can listen to relaxing music while submerged in warm soapy goodness. Choose your favorite aroma. Sip your favorite drink or munch on your favorite comfort food. Take advantage of your tub! If you wish to tan, then relax under the sun while sipping your favorite cold drink.

Cook or Bake
To some, cooking and baking maybe tiring (especially the clean-up). But to others, like me, it can be therapeutic. The joy and excitement of creating so wonderful and yummy is what drives me to cook. It’s also very therapeutic, like my mind is in a trance. I don’t know why but I find it stress-relieving.

Exercise
For fitness buffs, exercise is relaxing. Yes, it is tiring physically. But mentally and spiritually, it is relaxing. I guess the endorphins also have to do with it. It makes you feel happy and feel refreshed. Yoga is usually the most sought after form of exercise since it is very relaxing.

Eat and Drink
Forget your insecurities for a while! Treat yourself to your favorite comfort food since you have survived a grueling week at school or work. Order takeout so that you won’t have to get tired from commuting.

Read a Good Book
Like listening to good music, reading a good book can be relaxing. It makes you forget all the other things and just focus on the wonderful story of a book. Books or stories can be very inspiring, too, leaving you refreshed and ready for a new day.

Watch a Good Movie
Turn on the boob tube or media player and watch comedies or inspiring movies. It will definitely make you feel like you did not waste your time.

These are cheaper alternatives, too, than seeking relaxation somewhere like a spa or resort. I am sure anyone can do this at home. Enjoy your weekend everyone!
