Profriends: Clean and Fresh Home

Earlier, I wrote about prevention of pests invading your home. Now, I thought of ways on how to make and maintain a clean fresh home. Like most gay people, Sam and I want an orderly home (ProFriends’ Lancaster home, yay!). It’s a great way to avoid pests and to invite more guests (hey that rhymed! Haha). You never know when you want to take photos so might as well have a beautiful background, right?

Anyway, here are some of my ideas and ideas I found on the Internet on how to make your home become a real dream home.

Dust & Sweep
It is age-old practice but because it really is effective. No matter what we do, dusts get inside the home. It accumulates and turns into dirt. A handy dandy rag or feather duster can help you with dusting furniture, windows, doors, knick knacks, and more. Be sure to reach ceilings and corners as well! Nobody likes hanging agiw (old cobwebs covered with soot). A good ol’ broom or a vacuum cleaner can help you with sweeping. Remember to get under the tables, chairs, and other furnishings. Capture those dust bunnies! With a moist rag, mop or wipe the floors to really remove dust or dirt. Wax wooden floors, too!

Clean appliances
Be sure to clean electric fans and air-conditioners regularly to avoid the further circulation of dust and dirt. If you can’t clean an air conditioner yourself, just hire an expert. Clean electric fans one at a time to avoid a hot home.

Although there is no dust inside the refrigerator, it will still get dirty in time. Be sure to have it cleaned once a month!

Clean the bathroom
Clean it at least once a week! A clean bathroom is always inviting. Guests would be impressed as well. I like a clean bathroom because if not, I won’t feel clean myself after using it to shower.

Use screens and curtains
Apart from ensuring security and privacy, screens and curtains help keep most dust and dirt at bay. But be sure to clean those on an at least once a month basis. But if you are as O.C. as we are, you will clean it bi-weekly. Open windows feel cleaner and fresher, too, especially if you live in a suburban green community like Lancaster New City.

Change sheets and covers
Whether you like it or not, dust also lands on the bed, couches, and table cloth. Make sure to wash them on a bi-weekly basis especially bed sheets. You will be surprised at how dirty the sheets are when dumped in the washing machine. Clean sheets also help prevent skin acne!

Airfreshener
Now that your home is clean, make it fresh by avoiding stinky smells. Place diffusers, candles, or incense if you like. Spray some scented air freshener (but better if not to avoid more carbon emissions).
