I was too late to know that PROFRIENDS
or Property Company of Friends Inc held a video essay contest regarding those
with a beautiful (but I think more like touching) story to share. The winner
will win a Sophie house unit
(tax-free). The Sophie model (Typical
Selling Price: Php 1,650,000) is available in Lancaster New City so I am
guessing that that’s where the winner will live. The nominator of the winner
also gets Php 50,000 cash prize. I am not sure who won yet even if the winner
was said to be announced August 30, 2013.
The Sophie house model is 52/80 sqm single-attached home that features
three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living area, dining area, kitchen, provision
for one-car garage, and option of family courtyard or family enclave. The home
is made of pre-painted G.I. sheet roofing, steel casement windows, painted
plain cement finish for exterior walls and interior walls, tiled kitchen
counter with stainless kitchen sink, tiled bathrooms with complete set of
bathroom fixtures (including tissue and soap holder), plain cement finish for
ground and second floors, and provision for CATV, telephone and air condition
outlet.
Anyway, I read about it on Philippine
Star online. The “PRO-FRIENDS ka rin ba?” contest was launched in order to
celebrate Pro-Friends’ countdown to its 15th year in the real estate industry
in 2014. The contest allowed anyone to nominate a friend or relative who
deserves a brand new home. PCFI even have a separate website for the contest: profriendskarinba.com.
I visited Pro Friends official youtube channel and watched all of the
video entries. They are all touching stories which I think deserve a home. But
alas! Only one can win.
If you wish to watch these amazing video essays, just visit the “PRO-FRIENDS
ka rin ba?” channel on PCFI youtube. Ready your tissues though because these
are tear jerkers. I wish that those who wouldn’t get to win would have their
videos exposed so that generous hearts may still try to reach out to them and
maybe offer them other things or help aside from a brand new home. J
There are 19 video entries in the official youtube channel. Surely,
those 19 aren’t the only ones who deserve a home or a chance in life. I am
quite saddened how so many of us are still suffering from the carelessness and
abusiveness of others (*cough* politicians *cough*). And it’s sad to know that
many companies, LEGIT NON-GOVERNMENT groups, and individuals are dedicating
themselves to reach out to the needy instead of the actual government doing it.
The local government is neglecting its responsibilities because they have been
drowned by the many riches stolen from the pockets of the suffering. Sigh.. I’m
going to stop here because if I continued my political rant, it may never end.
Haha!
So how about you guys? Who do you think should win? Did you watch the
videos? Or maybe you know someone who deserves a home, too? Share their
stories! Even if you weren’t able to join the contest, I’m sure kind hearts
would love to help you/them.
